Brendan Kelly is the Founder and President of Liberation Strategies - a gay-owned small business dedicated to transforming lives and leadership in the LGBTQ+ community. Motivated by his own journey of success, failure, transformation and creation, Brendan uses his own narrative along with two decades of training in research, programs and lived experience to bring compassion, commitment and collaborative to individuals, families and organizations seeking to transform their lived experience in the work.

and past staff member for a leading personal development and training company where he led and managed programs in their Training Academy. Prior to pursing a career in leadership development, Brendan spent 15 years leading federal evaluations of human services programs for children and families. An active member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community and a recovering alcoholic and addict, Brendan’s passion for children and families stems from his deep devotion and connection to his own parents as the greatest reward from his transformational journey.
Brendan graduated first in his class from St. John’s University and was awarded the Harry S. Truman Memorial Scholarship for leadership and a commitment to public service in 1998. Brendan completed his Masters in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University and graduate work in Social Welfare Policy from Columbia University’s School of Social Work.

Brendan is passionate about running with his dog and loves living in Loring Park and the access to running around the lakes, along the Mississippi River or on trails throughout Minneapolis.
